Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

I say: It is well-known that Allah is with the God-fearing, the doers of good, and the just—granting them guidance, victory, and assistance. In supplication one may say to a person, “Allahu maʿaka” (Allah be with you). Should someone actually be given the name “Allahu maʿaka,” this would simply be a way of seeking blessing through the meaning of that phrase. Likewise, if it is said that the Messiah was called “Allahu maʿanā” (Allah is with us) or “Ilāhunā maʿanā” (our God is with us), and the like, this merely signifies that Allah is with those who follow the Messiah and believe in him, so Allah becomes their guide, their supporter, and their helper.
