He, the Exalted, also said:
“On the Day We raise up within every nation a witness from among themselves, and We bring you as a witness against these” (al-Nahl 89).
At that time the “lord” who bears witness will be the Messiah—that is, the human being—who came forth from Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), left his abode, descended and set foot upon the earth because of the sin of the children of Jacob. When they sinned and altered the truth, Allah sent the Messiah, peace be upon him, to call them to worship Allah alone and obey Him. Whoever believes in him will be blessed and entitled to reward, whereas whoever disbelieves in him will be wretched and deserving of punishment.
وَقَالَ تَعَالَى:
{وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ}
[النحل: ٨٩]

وَحِينَئِذٍ فَيَكُونُ الرَّبُّ الشَّهِيدُ هُوَ الْمَسِيحَ، الَّذِي هُوَ النَّاسُوتُ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَاءَ مِن بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، وَخَرَجَ مِنْ مَوْضِعِهِ، وَنَزَلَ وَوَطِئَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ أَجْلِ خَطِيئَةِ بَنِي يَعْقُوبَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمَّا أَخْطَأُوا وَبَدَّلُوا أَرْسَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِمُ الْمَسِيحَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى عِبَادَةِ اللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَطَاعَتِهِ، فَمَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ كَانَ سَعِيدًا مُسْتَحِقًّا لِلثَّوَابِ، وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بِهِ كَانَ شَقِيًّا مُسْتَحِقًّا لِلْعَذَابِ.
