something that lies beneath the earth so that the soil must split open for it to appear. Even if the soul does at times reconnect with the body, that reunion has no need of the ground’s being rent asunder, nor has the body itself broken through the earth. It is nothing but an illusion cast by Satan, and the very same kind of thing has happened to many who affiliate themselves with the Muslims, the People of the Scripture, and the idol-worshippers.

Many people fancy that such occurrences are part of the extraordinary favors bestowed upon Allah’s righteous servants, while in fact they belong to the devils’ deception.
