Section: Refutation of Their Claim that Subtle Realities Can Only Manifest in Dense Bodies, and that for This Reason the Creative Word of Allah Became Incarnate in Jesus

They say:

“As for the embodiment of Allah’s creative Word in a created human being, and the joint birth of both—the Word together with the human nature—indeed, the Creator never addressed any of the prophets except by revelation or from behind a veil, in accordance with what this Book states:

‘It is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger who, by His permission, conveys whatever He wills’ (al-Shūrā 51).

Now, if subtle entities can only appear within dense ones—such as the Holy Spirit and the like—then the very Word of Allah by which both the subtle and the dense were created may likewise appear in something that is not dense at all.

For that reason it manifested in Jesus, son of Mary, for the human being is the most exalted of all that Allah has created. Thus He addressed creation, and they witnessed from Him what they witnessed.”
