the Holy Spirit,”
In another wording:
“The Holy Spirit is with you so long as you defend His Prophet.”
Both versions are found in the Ṣaḥīḥ collections.
According to the Christians, the Holy Spirit dwelt within the disciples, and, in their view, it likewise dwelt within all the prophets.
Allah the Exalted also says:
“So when you recite the Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.” ⦗An-Naḥl 16:98⦘ (98)
“He has no authority over those who believe and who place their trust in their Lord.” ⦗An-Naḥl 16:99⦘ (99)
“His authority is only over those who befriend him and those who associate others with Him.” ⦗An-Naḥl 16:100⦘ (100)
“Whenever We substitute one verse in place of another—and Allah knows best what He sends down—they say, ‘You are only a fabricator.’ No, most of them do not know.” ⦗An-Naḥl 16:101⦘ (101)
“Say: The Holy Spirit has brought it down from your Lord in truth, to strengthen the believers, and as guidance and glad tidings for those who submit.” ⦗An-Naḥl 16:102⦘.
He, the Exalted, also said elsewhere:
“It was brought down by the Trustworthy Spirit, upon your heart.” ⦗Ash-Shuʿarāʾ 26:193–194⦘.
And He said:
“Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel, it is he who has brought it down upon your heart by Allah’s permission.” ⦗Al-Baqarah 2:97⦘.
It is therefore clear that the Holy Spirit in these passages is Gabriel.
And He, the Exalted, said:
