– Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) also reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took me by the hand and said, “Allah created the soil (1) on Saturday; He set the mountains therein on Sunday; He created the trees on Monday; He created what is disliked on Tuesday; He created the light on Wednesday; He scattered the beasts in it on Thursday; and He created Adam, peace be upon him, after the afternoon of Friday, at the very end of creation, in the last hour of the day, between afternoon and night.” Reported by Muslim.
– Abū Sulaymān Khālid ibn al-Walīd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “On the day of Muʾtah nine swords broke in my hand, and nothing was left in my hand except a Yemenite blade.” Reported by al-Bukhari.
– ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “When a judge gives a ruling after exerting his reasoning and gets it right, he will have two rewards; if he rules after exerting his reasoning and is mistaken, he still has one reward.” Agreed upon.
– ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Fever comes from the searing heat of Hell (2), so cool it with water.” Agreed upon.
– She also reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever dies owing fasts, his guardian is to fast on his behalf.” Agreed upon.
The preferred view is that it is permissible to fast on behalf of someone who dies owing fast days, in light of this ḥadīth (3). The term wali (“guardian”) here refers to a relative, whether that person is an heir or not.
