a caliph from among your caliphs in the latter days who will scoop up wealth and dispense it without even counting it.” Reported by Muslim.
– Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī—may Allah be pleased with him—reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “A time will surely come upon people when a man will go about with his charity of gold and not find anyone willing to take it from him. On that same day one man will be followed by forty women, all seeking his protection because of the scarcity of men and the abundance of women.” Reported by Muslim.
– Abū Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—related that the Prophet ﷺ said: “A man bought a piece of land from another man. The purchaser then discovered within the property a jar filled with gold. He said to the seller, ‘Take your gold; I only bought the land from you—I did not buy the gold.’ The original owner replied, ‘I sold you the land and everything in it.’ So they referred the matter to an arbitrator, who asked, ‘Do either of you have children?’ One said, ‘I have a son,’ and the other said, ‘I have a daughter.’ The arbitrator ruled, ‘Marry the boy to the girl, live on the wealth, and give some of it in charity.’” Agreed upon.
– He (Abū Hurayrah) also reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Two women were walking with their two sons when a wolf came and carried off the child of one of them. Each said to the other, ‘It was your child the wolf took.’ They brought the case before David, peace be upon him, and he judged in favor of the elder woman. When they left, they came before Solomon son of David, peace be upon them both, and told him what had occurred. He said, ‘Bring me a knife so I may split the child between you.’ The younger woman cried out, ‘Do not do that—may Allah have mercy on you! He is her child.’ So Solomon ruled in favor of the younger woman.” Agreed upon.
– Mirdās al-Aslamī—may Allah be pleased with him—reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “The righteous will depart, first one group and then another, and there will remain only worthless people, like the husks of barley or dates; Allah will not care about them at all.” (1) Reported by al-Bukhārī.
