Abu Malik al-Harith ibn ʿĀṣim al-Ashʿarī, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Purification is half of faith (1); ‘al-ḥamdu lillāh’ fills the scale, and ‘subḥāna-llāh wa al-ḥamdu lillāh’ fill—or nearly fill—the space between heaven and earth. Prayer is light; charity is proof (2); patience is illumination; and the Quran is a plea either for you or against you. Every person sets out at daybreak (3): he trades his own soul, thereby either freeing it or destroying it.”

Abu Saʿīd Saʿd ibn Mālik ibn Sinān al-Khudrī, may Allah be pleased with both of them, reported: Some of the Helpers asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he gave them; then they asked again and he gave them, until all that he possessed was exhausted. After dispensing everything in his hands he said, “Whatever good I have I will never withhold from you. Whoever refrains from asking, Allah will keep him chaste; whoever seeks independence, Allah will enrich him; and whoever strives to be patient, Allah will grant him patience. No one has been given a gift better and more expansive than patience.”

Abu Yaḥyā Suhayb ibn Sinān, may Allah be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed, “How wonderful is the affair of the believer! All of his affairs are good for him—and that is true for no one except the believer. If something pleasing befalls him (4), he is grateful, and that is good for him; and if something harmful befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him.”

Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, related: When the Prophet ﷺ became gravely ill and agony overcame him (5), Fāṭimah, may Allah be pleased with her, exclaimed, “Oh, the anguish of my father!” He replied, “Your father will suffer no anguish after today (6).” When he passed away she said, “My father! He has answered a Lord who called him. My father! The Garden of Firdaws is his abode (7). My father! We proclaim his death to Gabriel.” After he was buried Fāṭimah, may Allah be pleased with her, said, “How could your hearts allow you to heap earth upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?”
