Chapter 305 – The Prohibition of Depicting Animate Beings on a carpet, stone, garment, dirham, cushion, dinar, pillow, and the like; the prohibition of keeping such images on a wall, ceiling, curtain, turban, cloth, and similar items; and the command to destroy them.
1687 – Ibn ʿUmar, may Allah be pleased with them both, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Those who fashion these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them, ‘Give life to what you have created.’” Agreed upon.
1688 – ʿĀʾishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey while I had covered an alcove of mine with a curtain that had figures on it. 1691 – Ibn Masʿūd, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “Those who will suffer the most severe punishment on the Day of Resurrection are the image-makers.” Agreed upon.
1692 – Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “Allah, the Exalted, said—”
