1593 – Ibn Masʿūd, Ibn ʿUmar, and Anas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Every traitor will have a banner (1) on the Day of Resurrection; it will be proclaimed, ‘This is the betrayal of so-and-so.’ ” Agreed upon.
1594 – Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Every traitor will have a banner fastened to his backside (2) on the Day of Resurrection; it will be raised in proportion to the gravity of his treachery. Indeed, no traitor is guiltier of betrayal than one who leads the public.” Recorded by Muslim.
1595 – Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah the Exalted said: Three people I will oppose on the Day of Resurrection: a man who pledged in My Name and then betrayed, a man who sold a free person and consumed his price, and a man who hired a worker, took full labor from him, yet did not pay him his wage.” Recorded by al-Bukhārī (3).
