1566 – Abu Barzah Nadlah ibn ʿUbayd al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A young girl (1) was riding a she-camel that was carrying some of the people’s luggage. When she caught sight of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the mountain pass became cramped for them, she cried out, “Hall! O Allah, curse her!” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said, “A she-camel upon which there is a curse must not accompany us.” Related by Muslim.
His statement “Hall” – with an unvocalised ḥāʾ followed by a quiescent lām – is a command used to prod camels forward.
Be aware that the meaning of this ḥadīth might seem problematic, but in truth it is not. The intent is simply to forbid that particular camel from accompanying them. There is no ban on selling it, slaughtering it, or riding it when it is not in the Prophet’s company (peace and blessings be upon him). All such dispositions remain permissible; only travelling alongside the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was prohibited. Since all these uses were originally lawful and only one of them was proscribed, the remainder stay as they were. Allah knows best.

It is established in the two Ṣaḥīḥs that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah has cursed the wāṣilah and the mustawṣilah (3),” and that he said, “Allah has cursed the one who consumes usury,” and that he cursed the image-makers, and that he said:
