In another of Muslim’s renderings the wording is:
“SubḥānAllāh ʿadada khalqih (Glory be to Allah: as numerous as His creation), SubḥānAllāh riḍā nafsih (Glory be to Allah: as much as pleases Him), SubḥānAllāh zinata ʿarshih (Glory be to Allah: equal to the weight of His Throne), SubḥānAllāh midāda kalimātih (Glory be to Allah: equal to the ink required to record His words).”
Al-Tirmidhī records another version in which he said, “Shall I not teach you some words to say?
SubḥānAllāh ʿadada khalqih, SubḥānAllāh ʿadada khalqih, SubḥānAllāh ʿadada khalqih;
SubḥānAllāh riḍā nafsih, SubḥānAllāh riḍā nafsih, SubḥānAllāh riḍā nafsih;
SubḥānAllāh zinata ʿarshih, SubḥānAllāh zinata ʿarshih, SubḥānAllāh zinata ʿarshih;
SubḥānAllāh midāda kalimātih, SubḥānAllāh midāda kalimātih, SubḥānAllāh midāda kalimātih.”
1442 – Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī – may Allah be pleased with him – reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “The likeness of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember Him is that of the living and the dead.” Reported by al-Bukhārī.
Muslim transmitted it with the wording: “The parable of a house in which Allah is remembered and a house in which Allah is not remembered is that of the living and the dead.”
1443 – Abū Hurayrah – may Allah be pleased with him – related that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Allah the Exalted says: I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him whenever he remembers Me. If he remembers Me inwardly, I remember him inwardly; and if he remembers Me in an assembly, I remember him in an assembly better than theirs.” Agreed upon.
1444 – Abū Hurayrah also reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The al-mufarridūn have taken the lead.” They asked, “Who are the al-mufarridūn, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “The men and women who remember Allah abundantly.” Reported by Muslim.
The term al-mufarridūn is transmitted both with a stressed and with a light rā’; the majority pronounce it with the stressed consonant.
1445 – Jābir – may Allah be pleased with him – said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “The best remembrance is: Lā ilāha illā Allāh (There is no deity but Allah).” Reported by al-Tirmidhī, who graded it ḥasan.
1446 – ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that a man said, “O Messenger of Allah, indeed…"
