the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was fasting. When the sun had set he said to one of the people, “So-and-so, dismount and mix the drink for us.” The man replied, “O Messenger of Allah, would you not wait until evening?” He said, “Dismount and mix the drink for us.” The man said, “But there is still daylight upon you!” He said, “Dismount and mix the drink for us.” So the man dismounted, prepared the drink, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank. He then said, “When you see that night has advanced from this side, the fasting person has broken his fast,” and he gestured with his hand toward the east. Agreed upon.
