9 – Abu Mūsā ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qays al-Ashʿarī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who fights out of bravery, another who fights out of tribal zeal¹, and another who fights for show; which of these is fighting in the path of Allah? He ﷺ replied, “Whoever fights so that the word of Allah may be uppermost is in the path of Allah.”² Agreed upon.
10 – Abu Bakrah Nufayʿ ibn al-Ḥārith ath-Thaqafī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, “When two Muslims confront one another with their swords, the killer and the one killed are both in the Fire.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, that is the killer—what about the slain man?” He ﷺ answered, “He was keen to kill his companion.” Agreed upon.
11 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The prayer a man performs in congregation surpasses his prayer in his market or his house by twenty-odd³ degrees. That is because when one of you makes ablution well, then goes to the mosque seeking nothing but the prayer—nothing moves him out but the prayer—he does not take a single step without being raised one degree and having one sin erased, until he enters the mosque. Once he enters the mosque he is counted as being in prayer so long as the prayer keeps him there, and the angels continue to invoke blessings upon any one of you while he remains in the place where he prayed, saying: ‘O Allah, have mercy on him; O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, accept his repentance,’ so long as he does not cause harm there and does not break his ablution.” Agreed upon; this is Muslim’s wording.
And his ﷺ statement “yanhazuhu” is pronounced with a fatḥa on the yāʾ, the hāʾ, and the zāʾ; it means: it drives him out and makes him rise up.
