210 – Chapter: The excellence of Friday, its obligation, the ritual bath for it, applying fragrance, going early, supplicating on Friday, sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ during it, clarifying the hour in which prayers are answered, and the recommendation to increase the remembrance of Allah after the Friday prayer.

Allah the Exalted says: “But when the prayer has concluded, disperse throughout the land, seek Allah’s bounty, and remember Allah often so that you may succeed.” (Jumu‘ah 62:10)

1154 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday: on it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it.” Narrated by Muslim.

1155 – He also reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever performs ablution and perfects it, then comes to the Friday prayer, listens attentively and remains silent, will have his sins forgiven from that Friday to the next, with three additional days. Whoever touches the pebbles has engaged in idle talk.” Narrated by Muslim.

1156 – He further reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, “The five daily prayers, one Friday to the next, and one Ramadan to the next, are expiation for whatever occurs between them, provided the major sins are avoided.” Narrated by Muslim.

1157 – He and Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say from the wooden steps of his pulpit, “People must cease neglecting (1) Friday prayers, or Allah will set a seal upon their hearts and they will surely be among the heedless.” Narrated by Muslim.

1158 – Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When any one of you comes to the Friday prayer, let him perform a ritual bath.” Agreed upon.
