were all Companions). He said: “My father, Yazīd, set aside some gold dinars to give in charity. He placed them with a man in the mosque, whereupon I came, took the money, and brought it to him. He said, ‘By Allah, it was not you that I intended!’ So I took the dispute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, ‘O Yazīd, you will have what you intended, and Maʿn, you will have what you have taken.’” Narrated by al-Bukhārī.
