821 – Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whenever the Prophet ﷺ lay down for the night, he would place his hand beneath his cheek and then say, “O Allah, in Your name I die and am brought to life.” And when he awoke he would say, “Praise be to Allah who revived us after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.” Al-Bukhārī narrated it. 822 – Yaʿīsh ibn Tikhfah al-Ghifārī (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that his father said: “While I was lying on my stomach in the mosque, a man nudged me with his foot and said, ‘This is a posture Allah dislikes.’ I looked up and it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” Related by Abu Dāwūd with an authentic chain.
823 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever sits in a gathering without mentioning Allah will incur from Allah a loss, and whoever lies down without mentioning Allah will likewise incur from Allah a loss.” Recorded by Abu Dāwūd with a good chain. The word tirah—pronounced with a kasrah on the initial tā’—means a deficiency; some say it means a liability.
