What you were promised has reached you; tomorrow has its appointed time. Truly, if Allah wills, we shall join you. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqīʿ al-Gharqad (2).” Narrated by Muslim.
588 – Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet ﷺ used to teach them that when they went out to the cemeteries, one of them should say, “Peace be upon you, residents of these dwellings—believers and Muslims. Indeed, if Allah wills, we shall soon join you. We ask Allah for well-being for us and for you.” Narrated by Muslim.
589 – Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by some graves in Madinah, turned his face toward them, and said, “Peace be upon you, people of the graves. May Allah forgive us and you. You have preceded us, and we are following after you.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhī, who graded it ḥasan (3).
