419 – Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, “Messenger of Allah, what are the two decisive matters?” He replied, “Whoever dies without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise, and whoever dies while associating something with Him will enter the Fire.” Reported by Muslim.
420 – Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet ﷺ, while Muʿādh was riding behind him on the saddle, said, “Muʿādh!” He replied, “At your service, Messenger of Allah, at your service and obedience.” The Prophet again said, “Muʿādh!” and he answered, “At your service, Messenger of Allah, at your service and obedience.” A third time he said, “Muʿādh!” and again came the reply, “At your service, Messenger of Allah, at your service and obedience.” The Prophet then said, “No servant sincerely bears witness from his heart that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger except that Allah makes the Fire forbidden for him.” Muʿādh asked, “Messenger of Allah, shall I not inform the people so that they may rejoice?” He said, “They would then become complacent.” Muʿādh conveyed this ḥadīth only at the time of his death, fearing sin in concealing knowledge.
