—and that weighed heavily on the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he told them, “Say: Ḥasbunā Allāh wa niʿma al-wakīl (Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Guardian).” Reported by al-Tirmidhī, who said: “A good ḥadīth.”
(The horn) al-qarn is the ṣūr of which Allah Most High said, “and the trumpet will be blown” [al-Zumar 68]; this is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ explained it.
415 – Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever fears (1) sets out at night, and whoever sets out at night will reach the destination. Truly, the merchandise of Allah is precious; truly, the merchandise of Allah is Paradise.” Reported by al-Tirmidhī, who said: “A good ḥadīth.”
“Adlaja,” with the dāl at rest (sukūn), means to travel at the beginning of the night. What is intended is to exert oneself promptly in obedience; Allah knows best.
416 – ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised.” I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, men and women all together, looking at one another?!” He replied, “O ʿĀʾishah, the matter will be far too severe for them to be concerned about that.” In another wording: “The matter will preoccupy them too much for them to look at one another.” Agreed upon.
“Ghurlan,” with ḍamma on the ghayn, means “uncircumcised.”
51 – Chapter: Hope
