from the occupants of those graves, making vows to them, swearing oaths by them—even prostrating to them—and other such aberrations that are openly and notoriously practiced. In His wisdom, blessed and exalted is He, He therefore forbade all of these practices so that Allah alone would be worshipped with no partner whatsoever. Thus His command to call upon Him alone is fulfilled, for He said: “The mosques belong to Allah; so do not invoke anyone alongside Allah.”(1)
It grieves every Muslim of pure heart to see that many Muslims have fallen into violating the law of the Master of the Messengers ﷺ, which
“The small number of those who tread the right path will not harm you; beware of the paths of misguidance and do not be deluded by the multitude of those who are doomed.”
Whoever imagines that rubbing with the hand or the like yields greater blessing is acting out of ignorance and heedlessness, for blessing lies only in what accords with the Sharia and with the statements of the scholars. How, then, can anyone seek virtue by opposing what is correct?
I say: May Allah have mercy on Imam al-Nawawi. With this single statement he assigned those shaykhs who actually rub themselves against graves—or who commend the practice verbally—to the rank they deserve, counting them among the common folk whose ignorance is not to be heeded. (Is there anyone who will take admonition?)

بأصحابها، والنذر لها، والحلف بها بل والسجود لها، وغير
ذلك من الضلال مما هو مشاهد معروف، فاقتضت حكمته
تبارك تعالى تحريم كل هذه الأمور، حتى يعبد الله تبارك
وتعالى وحده ولا يشرك به شيء، فيتحقق بذلك أمره تعالى
بدعائه وحده في قوله : ﴿وأن المساجد لله فلا تدعو مع الله
أحدًا﴾(١).
وإن مما يأسف له كل مسلم طاهر القلب أن يجد كثيراً من
المسلمين قد وقعوا في مخالفة شريعة سيد المرسلين ﷺ التي
= يضرك قلة السالكين، وإياك وطرق الضلالة ولا تغتر بكثرة الهالكين».
ومن خطر في باله أن المسح باليد ونحوه أبلغ في البركة، فهو من جهله
وغفلته، لأن البركة إنما هي فيما وافق الشرع وأقوال العلماء، وكيف يبتغي
الفضل في مخالفة الصواب؟!».
قلت : رحم الله الإمام النووي فإنه بهذه الكلمة أعطى هؤلاء المشايخ الذين
يتمسحون بالقبور فعلاً، أو يحبذونها قولاً ما يستحقونه من المنزلة، حيث
جعلهم من العوام الذين لا يجوز أن يلتفت إلى جهالاتهم! (فهل من
مذكر)؟
