Tafsir al-Uthaymin Juz AmmaIbn al-'Uthaymin

But for the believers—may Allah make us among them—it will be easy, as easy as performing an obligatory prayer, because of how effortless and easy it will be for them. This will be especially true of those who merit that tremendous protection and are among those whom Allah will shade in His shade on a Day when there will be no shade but His. Thus, although this Day is tremendous, it will be easy for some people and difficult for others:

“The Day mankind will stand before the Lord of all worlds.”

Allah, Exalted is He, says:

“And it will be a difficult Day for the disbelievers.” (al-Furqān: part of verse 26)

That is, this tremendous Day is “the Day mankind will stand before the Lord of all worlds.” They will rise from their graves barefoot, wearing neither sandals nor leather socks; naked, wearing neither shirts, trousers, waist-wraps, nor cloaks; and uncircumcised. In other words, the foreskin removed through circumcision will be restored to the person on the Day of Resurrection, as Allah, Exalted is He, says:

“As We began the first creation, We will repeat it.” [al-Anbiyā: 104]

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will restore it as a demonstration of His perfect power and of the fact that He recreates people just as He first created them. The foreskin is removed in this world for the sake of cleanliness from filth, because if it remains, some urine may become trapped within it, leaving it liable to become soiled. In the Hereafter, however, there will be no need for this, because the Hereafter is not a realm of religious duty but a realm of recompense—although Allah, Glorified and Exalted, may impose a duty there by way of a test, as He says:

“On the Day the Shin will be bared and they will be called to prostrate, but they will be unable. Their eyes will be downcast, humiliation overwhelming them, for they had been called to prostrate while they were sound.” [al-Qalam: 42–43]

People will therefore rise in this state: barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised (1). Some hadiths also describe them as buhman (2). The scholars explained that buhm means people who have no wealth with them. On the Day of Resurrection, there will be no wealth with which a person may ransom himself from punishment. No son will avail his father in the least, no father will avail his son, and neither wife nor tribe will be of any avail. Everyone will say:
