“The left” means the left side or ill fortune.

“Over them will be a Fire sealed shut,” meaning that a Fire will close in upon them. They will neither escape it nor find any way to do so. We ask Allah to make us among those who believe, do righteous deeds, exhort one another to patience, and exhort one another to compassion. Indeed, He is All-Hearing and Responsive.
