A Note on the Printed Editions
A number of editions of Kitab al-Ijmaʿ (The Book of Consensus) have appeared, most of them commercial prints issued without due care for accuracy or verification. The most reliable editions I have found are the following:
(1) Dar Taybah, edited by Dr. Abu Hammad Saghir Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanif—the editor of Kitab al-Awsat.
(2) Edition of the Supreme Sharia Courts in the State of Qatar, edited by Dr. Fuʾad ʿAbd al-Munʿim, with an introduction and review by Shaykh ʿAbd Allah ibn Zayd Al-Mahmud, Chief Judge of the Sharia Courts and Religious Affairs in the State of Qatar (1).
(3) Dar al-Jinan, Beirut, edited by ʿAbd Allah al-Barudi.
(4) Dar al-Kutub al-ʿIlmiyyah.
(5) Maktabat al-Safa, al-Azhar (2).
