After completing the critical edition of the book and correcting it as far as possible, I gratefully asked the institute’s scholarly committee to finish the project by translating the biographical notes, preparing the necessary indices, and attending to the remaining technical matters.

Before closing, I must offer my heartfelt thanks to my brother, the esteemed Shaykh Nizar Hammadi, who kindly provided me with a photographic copy of the manuscript.
