My Methodology in Verification:

1. I adopted the manuscript copy as the primary basis for producing this epistle. I first read it with meticulous care, then compared it to the printed edition.
2. I retained everything found in the manuscript except where I deemed a correction necessary: if a word was firmly attested there yet corrupted, or the scribe had erred in writing it, I rectified it.
3. Anything enclosed in square brackets [ ] is my own addition.
4. I supplied the references for the Qurʾanic verses at the end of the book, and for the hadiths and other reports in their respective places, in a very concise manner so as not to overburden the work.
