Taysir al-Latif al-Mannan fi Khulasat Tafsir al-QuranAbd al-Rahman al-Sadi’

• Another lesson is the Prophet’s ﷺ statement: “The supplication of my brother Dhu’l-Nun—no distressed person ever recites it without Allah relieving him: ‘There is no god but You; glory be to You! I have indeed been among the wrongdoers’” (Al-Anbiya 87).(1)

• The episode also demonstrates that faith delivers one from terrors and hardships, for Allah says: “And thus We deliver the believers” (Al-Anbiya 88)—meaning that whenever believers are plunged into such ordeals, their very faith becomes the means of their rescue.
