“Likewise”—that is, the foregoing clarification and Allah’s comprehensive exposition for His servants—“Allah makes His signs clear to the people so that they may become mindful of Him.” Sound knowledge is a pathway to piety: when the truth is laid bare, people follow it, and when falsehood is exposed, they avoid it. But whoever recognizes the truth and then abandons it, or recognizes falsehood and then adopts it, his crime is all the more heinous and his sin all the more severe.
