Another sign of her overflowing love for the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—was that her son Anas had a forelock (1) that fluttered (2) across his brow. When it grew long, her husband asked her to cut it, but she refused, for whenever Anas came near, the Prophet would pass his noble hand over the boy’s head and touch that dangling lock upon his forehead.
