For the Noble Messenger ﷺ had dispatched her son, Ḥabīb ibn Zayd, with a letter to Musaylimah the Liar…

Musaylimah betrayed Ḥabīb and slew him in a manner that makes the skin crawl. He bound Ḥabīb and said to him,

“Do you testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah?”

“Yes,” he replied.

Musaylimah then asked, “Do you testify that I am the messenger of Allah?”

He answered, “I cannot hear what you are saying….”

So Musaylimah severed one of his limbs….

He went on repeating the same question, and Ḥabīb kept giving the same reply—adding nothing, subtracting nothing….

Each time, Musaylimah cut off yet another limb, until
