Nusaybah al-Māziniyyah
“On the Day of Uhud I never turned to my right or to my left without seeing Umm ʿUmārah fighting in my defence.” — Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah
“You have an appointment with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-ʿAqabah toward the end of the first watch of the night.” (1)
Musʿab ibn ʿUmayr whispered these words to one of the believers from Yathrib, and the news spread among them like a gentle breeze—swift, light, and silent.
The Muslims who had slipped out of the city and mingled with the throngs of pagan pilgrims converging on Mecca from every direction soon gathered around him.
Night fell, and the idol-worshipping pilgrims surrendered to sleep (2)
(1) al-hazii' (the first segment of the night): the first third thereof.
(2) al-kara: sleep.
