Vignettes from the Lives of the Female Companions
This book takes us on a journey through the life of the Muslim woman who lived under the care of the Noble Messenger ﷺ, offering a series of vivid scenes that embody the sound Islamic path that established her rights and duties. Under its shade she pledged allegiance on the same terms as the men and portrayed the highest examples of self-sacrifice and generosity along that way. The qualities of the Muslim woman were not confined to her being a believer of unshakable faith, an exemplary wife, and a first-rate mother—nurturing with mastery and, when stricken by calamity, seeking her reward with Allah. Beyond all of that she was a combatant in the cause of Allah: she fought in battles, dressed wounds, carried provisions, repaired arrows, and poured water into the parched throats of those who were laying down their lives for His sake.
Such, in all its loftiness and honor, is the life of the Muslim woman.
