As for sleight-of-hand magic, which relies on manual dexterity and rapid movement, and deceptive magic, which involves disguising certain materials so that they appear other than they really are, these two forms constitute fraud and deception, not the sorcery that amounts to disbelief (1).
- The true meaning of the testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah is:
- That Allah sent him to all humanity with guidance and the religion of truth.
- That he is the Seal of the Prophets.
- That he is truthful and confirmed as truthful in everything he reports.
- That his guidance ﷺ is the best guidance.
- That believing in him, obeying him, loving him and following him are obligatory upon everyone.
The matters that contradict the true meaning of the testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah may be summarized as follows:
(1) The author states in Sharh Nawāqid al-Islām (Explanation of the Nullifiers of Islam), p. 34: “This sorcery is sorcery only in the linguistic sense … but they made it a means of promoting acts of genuine sorcery.”
وأما السِّحرُ الرِّياضِيُّ؛ وهو: ما يَرجع إلى خِفَّةِ اليد وسرعة الحركة،
والسِّحرُ التَّمْوِيهيُّ؛ وهو: ما يكون بتموِيه بعض الموادِ بما يُظْهِرُها على غير حقيقتها= فهذانِ النوعان مِنَ الغِشِّ والخِداع، وليسا من السِّحر الذي هو كفرٌ (١).
- وحقيقةُ شهادةِ أنَّ محمدًا رسول الله:
- أنَّ الله أرسله إلى جميعِ الناسِ بالهدى ودينِ الحق.
- وأنَّه خاتم النبيين.
- وأنه الصادق المَصْدُوق في كلِّ ما أَخبر به.
- وأنَّ هديه ﷺ خيرُ الهدي.
- وأنَّ الإيمانَ به، وطاعتَه، ومحبتَه، وأتباعَه؛ واجبٌ على كلِّ أحد.
وجملةُ ما يناقض حقيقةَ شهادة أنَّ محمدًا رسولُ الله أمورٌ:
(١) قال المؤلف في «شرح نواقض الإسلام» ص ٣٤: «فهذا السِّحرُ سِحرٌ لُغَويٌ فقط .. لكنهم جعلوه وسيلة لترويجِ أعمالٍ سحرية سحرًا حقيقيًا».
