318 – Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever performs twelve units (rakʿahs) of the forenoon prayer, Allah will build a palace for him in Paradise.” Related by al-Tirmidhi, who judged it singular (gharīb). (1)
Hadith grading:
The hadith is weak, yet it is strengthened by corroborating reports.
Al-Tirmidhi said, “It is gharīb.” Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said, “Its chain is weak,” and in Fatḥ al-Bārī he added, “When its supporting chains are combined with the report of Anas, the hadith gains strength and becomes acceptable for citation.”
A corroboration comes from Abu al-Dardāʾ, who narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever performs two units of the forenoon prayer will not be recorded among the heedless, and whoever performs twelve units, Allah builds for him a house in Paradise … .”
Al-Mundhirī remarked, “Al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it in al-Kabīr; its narrators are trustworthy, though there is disagreement over Mūsā ibn Yaʿqūb al-Zamʿī. The hadith has also been reported from a number of Companions through various routes.”
