– First: rescuing that body of people from the Fire and becoming the means for their admission into Paradise.
– Second: the guide himself earns immense reward for leading them aright and directing them to good, for the Prophet ﷺ said, “If Allah guides a single person through you, that is better for you than a herd of red camels.” Reported by al-Bukhari (2942).
– Third: in this lies the success of his mission, compliance with his Lord’s command, and the discharge of his message.
3 – The hadith is evidence that the prostration of gratitude is preferably begun from a standing position rather than from sitting, because the wording says, “he fell in prostration,” and falling (khurūr) only occurs from standing. It is also possible, however, that the good news reached him while he was already standing; in that case the hadith would not constitute proof for the recommendation of beginning the prostration of gratitude from standing.
4 – This prostration is prescribed whenever one receives Allah’s blessings and favors, or when His bounty is perfected or renewed. Allah knows best.
