recognise the paths of derivation and the ways onward to ijtihad; for perceiving this increases his tranquillity regarding the soundness of the ruling and trains him to draw questions directly from their roots. These preliminaries are likewise meant to be the first steps on the road of weighing between apparently conflicting issues and of exercising ijtihad so as to reach the truth in the various rulings.

We ask Allah to grant benefit through them to whoever compiles or reads them, and to make every deed performed with them and every benefit gained from them purely for His Noble Face and a means of drawing near to Him in the Gardens of Bliss.
