supplication; the one who makes such a request incurs sin and his prayer will not be answered.
6 – Ibn al-Qayyim writes in Al-Jawāb al-Kāfī: “Supplication is one of the strongest causes; nothing is more useful than it. Whenever a servant is inspired to call upon Allah, the response is assured.”
Shaykh Taqī al-Dīn (Ibn Taymiyyah) said: “Among the etiquettes of duʿāʾ is to praise Allah Most High and to invoke blessings upon His Messenger ﷺ; for supplication is one of the most powerful means of obtaining benefits and warding off harms. It is recommended to keep one’s plea discreet, for that is more expressive of humble entreaty and closer to sincerity.”
