Tawḍīḥ al-AḥkāmAbd Allah al-Bassam

Allah, Exalted be He, says: “They ask you about menstruation. Say: It is a discomfort.” (al-Baqarah 2:222).

As for the Sunnah, the narrations are abundant. Among them are three hadiths of which Shaykh al-Islam remarked that all rulings on menstruation revolve around them:

  1. The hadith of Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh;
  2. The hadith of Umm Habibah bint Jahsh;
  3. The hadith of Hamnah bint Jahsh.

The scholars are unanimously agreed upon the fact of menstruation and, in general, upon its rulings.

Most of its detailed rulings will be presented below, if Allah wills.
