1352 – Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The most beloved words to Allah are four, and it will not harm you whichever of them you begin with: subḥān Allah (Glory be to Allah), al-ḥamdu lillah (Praise belongs to Allah), lā ilāha illā Allah (There is no deity but Allah), and Allahu akbar (Allah is the Greatest).” Recorded by Muslim (1).
1353 – Abu Mūsā al-Ashʿarī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “O ʿAbd Allah ibn Qays, shall I not show you a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? It is: lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billah (There is no power nor strength except through Allah).” Agreed upon.
Al-Nasaʾi adds: “lā maljaʾa mina Allāhi illā ilayh (There is no refuge from Allah except in Him)” (2).
— Hadith grading:
The additional wording recorded by al-Nasaʾi is authentic. Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar said: “Al-Nasaʾi recorded it, and Ibn Ḥibbān and al-Ḥākim declared it ṣaḥīḥ.” Al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī said: “Al-Nasaʾi, Ibn Ḥibbān, and al-Ḥākim recorded it and judged it sound from the narration of Abu Saʿīd; and al-Nasaʾi and al-Ḥākim from the narration of Abu Hurayrah, except for the phrase ‘lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billah.’” Al-Munḏirī stated: “Its narrators are trustworthy and relied upon,” and al-Ḥāfiẓ said in al-Fatḥ: “Its chain is strong.”
