5 – The wisdom behind performing ghusl after a state of major ritual impurity—Allah knows best—is that the body, following intercourse, is afflicted by sluggishness, lethargy, and weakness. Washing restores its vigor, vitality, and strength, for Allah is Gentle toward His servants.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about making wuduʾ after intercourse, “It is more invigorating for a second round,” ⦗reported by Ibn Khuzaymah 1/110, Ibn Ḥibbān 4/12, and al-Ḥākim 2/333⦘. Enveloping the whole body in water through ghusl is therefore even more revitalizing and strengthening.
