Decision of the Council of Senior Scholars on the ruling concerning an animal whose tail fat has been removed:

In Decision No. 183, dated 12/7/1414 AH, the Council of Senior Scholars ruled:

“An animal whose tail fat has been cut off is not valid for the udḥiyah, the hady, or the ʿaqīqah, for the tail fat is a complete organ that is sought in its own right. Accordingly, an animal lacking it is even more unfit than one whose horn or ear has been severed. Allah is the One who grants success.”
