Allah the Exalted says, “The recompense of an evil deed is an evil deed like it” (Surah al-Shura 42:40); He also says, “Whoever seeks redress after being wronged—no blame rests upon them” (42:41); and He says, “If you retaliate, then retaliate with the like of what was inflicted upon you” (Surah al-Nahl 16:126).
