- The ḥadīth also reveals the Companions’ keen concern to perform every act of worship correctly. They would not proceed with any devotion, or with any of its rulings they did not fully understand, until they had first asked about it so that the act might be placed in its proper legal context. This same diligence is obligatory upon all Muslims.

٩ - وفي الحديث بيان حرص الصحابة ﵃ على أن يأتوا بالعبادات على الوجه الصحيح، فإنَّهم لا يُقدمون عليها إذا كانوا يجهلونها أو يجهلون بعض أحكامها، حتى يسألوا عن ذلك؛ لتقع موقعها الشرعي، وهذا واجب المسلمين.
