of the Qur’an and Sunnah that affirm Allah’s attributes.
Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamāʿah denounce the followers of these schools and doctrines, viewing their verbal and practical innovations as malignant and extremely perilous, for they oppose the truth in its clearest meanings and manifestations. They divide such people into three categories:
-
One who knows that his innovation conflicts with the Qur’an and the Sunnah, yet discards them and follows his own desire and the leanings of his peers; there is no doubt about his disbelief.
-
One who is pleased with his innovation and turns away from seeking the truth and the correct position on the basis of sound evidence; this person is an unjust sinner.
-
One who is eager to follow the truth and strives to reach it, but it has not become clear to him; he remains on what he believes to be right. Allah may well forgive his error—Allah knows best.
9 – In these latter times groups have appeared with new names and new ideas that surpass their predecessors in unbelief and atheism. We list them below:
(a) Freemasonry, which has served Zionism and colonialism; it is the most dangerous germ threatening the whole world.
(b) Communism, which has gathered three destructive atheistic movements: international communism, fascism, and Zionism.
(c) The Bahāʾī and Bābī sects, founded on pagan principles in their claim to the divinity of Bahāʾ and his authority to implement schemes aimed at altering the Islamic law.
(d) Qādiyānism, whose deliberate goal is to undermine Islamic doctrine and law through a cunning and treacherous method.
Concerning these groups, the Fiqh Council in Mecca—under the auspices of the Muslim World League—has issued rulings on each, declaring that they are sects outside the fold of Islam and that whoever embraces them is not a Muslim. Allah is the Guide to the straight path.
