1029 – ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, narrating from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “For every mawāḍiḥ wound, the compensation is five camels.” It was recorded by Aḥmad and the Four.
Aḥmad also added: “All the fingers are alike: for each of them the blood-money is ten camels.” The ḥadīth was declared sound by Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn al-Jārūd ⦗1⦘.

Degree of authenticity
The ḥadīth is ḥasan. The compiler states that it was transmitted by Imām Aḥmad and the Four, and authenticated by Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn al-Jārūd. Al-Shawkānī says: Abū Dāwūd, al-Mundhirī, and the author of al-Talkhīṣ were silent about it, and all the narrators up to ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb are trustworthy. Al-Tirmidhī also graded it ḥasan.
