and the danger of placing the infant in the hands of a foolish woman may lead to his being neglected or even accidentally killed; it also increases the likelihood of repeated mishaps, falls, and injuries.
Contemporary medical specialists have listed the following benefits of feeding an infant with his mother’s milk—or that of a competent wet-nurse:
(a) Mother’s milk is sterile and ready-made; it contains no microbes.
(b) No manufactured formula can equal it, for it is composed day by day in precise accord with the child’s needs from birth until weaning.
(c) It supplies all the necessary nutrients in quantities and proportions perfectly suited to the infant.
(d) Global health reports for 1980 state that more than ten million children died because they were not breast-fed by their mothers.
(e) Breast-feeding forges a deep psychological and emotional bond between mother and child.
Physicians mention many other advantages of breast-feeding over the factory-produced milk that stems from limited science and feeble thought—while Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
