878 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Accursed is the one who comes to a woman from her rear passage.” It was narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Nasa’i—the wording cited here is that of al-Nasa’i. Its narrators are trustworthy, yet it has been deemed defective because of an interrupted chain (mursal).(1)
Hadith grade:
The hadith is authentic. It was transmitted by al-Shafi‘i, who regarded it as sound; al-Bayhaqi, al-Tahawi, and al-Khattabi adopted his view. Its chain is sahih, and—as al-Mundhiri stated—it has another route whose isnad is good. These routes are found in the compilations of al-Nasa’i, al-Tahawi, al-Bayhaqi, and Ibn ‘Asakir. Ibn Hibban and Ibn Hazm also declared it authentic, and al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar concurred with them in Fath al-Bari.
