times of hardship; for the benefit of supplication is that it is a powerful means of obtaining what is sought, provided its conditions are fulfilled and its impediments removed.

7. Imam Ahmad, Abū Dāwūd, al-Nasāʾī, and others relate—through the chain of ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather—that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When you enter upon your wife, perform two rakʿahs, then place your hand on her head and say: ‘O Allah, bless my household for me, bless me for my household, and grant me provision through them.’”
