himself, for such matters do not admit agency.
Ruling on undertaking an agency
The sound determination is that if a person knows himself to possess the required strength and trustworthiness, and is confident that the task will not distract him from something more important, then it is recommended for him to accept the agency. Doing so fulfils the need of a fellow Muslim and earns reward in the Hereafter.
By contrast, if he knows that he is incapable, fears that he may betray the trust, or worries that it will divert him from a weightier obligation, keeping away from the assignment is the safer course.
Agency is a revocable contract from both sides. It is dissolved whenever either the principal or the agent withdraws, and it is likewise nullified by the death or insanity of either party.
