Thus, with regard to the prescribed penalties ordained by Allah—such as the punishment for adultery—or a penalty whose entitlement lies with another person, like slander or retributive retaliation, no suretyship is valid, for it cannot be exacted from the guarantor. The same applies to bodily matrimonial rights, whether the equitable division of nights, proper marital companionship, or any other obligation that pertains solely to the body of the person guaranteed.
